Former US Secretary of Defense Melvin Laird Success - February 26th, 2016 Melvin Laird served as a US Congressman for Wisconsin from 1953-1969 and as Richard Nixon's Secretary of Defense from 1969-1973 overseeing the withdrawal of US combat forces from Vietnam.
