I first wrote to her last year, but never received a reply. I think my letter got lost in the mail. So I tried again last week. Im very happy to receive a reply! Shes also sent me a handwritten note.

"Growing Up With Monsters" is one of the most fun books Ive read in years. Its very short, but its packed full of charming memories, terrific illustrations, and photos that include very rare posters of movies made during the Silent Film Era and beyond.
Im very much looking forward to buying a copy of "Among the Rugged Peaks". Im sure I wont be able to put it down.
I place a big sentimental value on the Universal films. They still look beautiful and have gorgeous sets and all... They havent aged at all. Theyre like fine wine. |    |

I wrote Ms. Laemmle a LOR (letter of request) on February 25, 2012 and received my picture that I had sent, signed, and she even wrote me a letter. I had asked her where to find her books since I couldnt find them in stores.

Sent out the 21st of feb. Got back today. A small picture personalized to me from carla laemmle. Also a 2 page note. She is so sweet and 102! Used adress in database!(which I think is no longer available). |
