I got an answer from Sir Ian Holm. Sent the letter in early 2014 and received it today.

He or someone signed the backside of my picture. I am pretty sure that this one wasn�t written by Ian. I have checked it to some others. His signature definitely looks different. Good to see on preprints.
What do you think?

Received 1 PP and a sec's note saying he can't signed the photos. Very sad and disappointed(((((((
I've seen many successes from Mr. Holm here and thought he could have signed my pics as well..

Sent SASE, LOR and 8x10. Received 8x10 back signed (twice).
Ian signed the photo twice to which I can only assume was because the signature near the face is a little unclear.
Took around a year or so. Not too sure of exact date sent.
